In the Event of Planning a Wedding...

Do:

Find your wedding shoes right away. They are hard to locate.
Decide what place you want to say "I do" in.
Have a groom.
Understand that your shade of green is not available and therefore must be flexible.
Realize that wedding dresses look better in the mirror than on a hanger.
Take time to breathe and not think about it.

Don't:
Order invitations online unless an interpreter is provided.
Forget how amazing your friends are that they would help with so much stuff!
Give your address out to sales reps.
Stress. It's bad. Very bad.

Rambles

We found a tux for Josh! :) From what I've seen it looks great. The pants are made for someone walking on stilts, but we can fix that.

I got almost all the needed pieces to assemble the invitations. I did a test run and love the results!

I still need to post my side of the story. I think it's a little easier than Josh's side. *hint* I didn't like him...

Invitations

Well, I printed our invites today. The invites were great...the cards were crazy. I tried feeding them in the printer with the special settings and margins, but the printer would refuse to put the words in the right place. So I adjusted the paper size and increased the margins. Then it started not even going through the printer! It would lay the toner but forget to fuse it (it's laserjet instead of ink). So I'd get the equivilent of sand letters without the glue. hmph! Finally, after much pleading for wisdom, I figured out that if I bent the cards just so they would go all the way through the printer! haha! That's right. I win.

2 Months Left!

Josh and I have been engaged for a whole month now! :) He suprised me that day with a bouquet of roses and a drive around town. We ended up getting some ice cream and hanging out at the nearby park. It was so sweet though, since my evening was kind of boring. Yes, I was getting things accomplished but it was kind of sad since I knew it was our 1 month anniversary. Anyways...I got a call and it was my fiance. He was driving it sounded like, so I assumed he was coming home after helping a lady with her lawn mower. He mentioned it was a really nice night and that I should go look at the stars. So I went outside without my glasses and stared up at the sky for a while. Then I noticed Josh walk up! He's so thoughtful.

I found out yesterday that two of our friends are getting married - to each other! I'm so excited for them. So much fun. :)

We've also nailed down the location for our reception!!! *cue Hallelujah Chorus* Now I can print my invitations and such. Hooray! That will be fun.

I still need to wrap bubbles. *Christy tries to impress upon her mind the importance of bubble-wrap - no wrapping bubbles*

"Do you have the wing?"

Listing

found the location for the wedding
invitations are bought
bridesmaids have their dresses
menu decided on
have photographer
have videographer
picked out some songs for the ceremony
made a website for guests to rsvp and other information

i started wrapping the bubble jars with tulle and ribbon. they look so cute! i'm sure i won't think they are quite so much after 250 are wrapped, but it will be great.

i don't even want to list what needs to still be done. i'd rather rejoice in these accomplishments.

Cinderella Man

They don't quite fit...

Monday, July 9, 2007

Today a man asked me to marry him. He was so nice I decided I would. He even had a gorgeous ring. What else could I do?

I got my ring back from the jewlers today, so Josh asked me for the second time to marry him - in the coffee break room! I think he gets the prize for originality. I love him. :D

Since blogger is being weird I can't put up a title. I hope you don't mind an "unamed post".

That's kind of like the Unfinished Symphony without the talent and fame.

Church

So this is what I'd like for inside the chapel where we are getting married. I think it's the most simple of the set ups that are offered. The Lord was gracious to provide a beautiful place to have the wedding ceremony held!

Oh, and the date is......

How's it Coming?

I now have a wedding dress! For the sake of some guy that reads this blog I won't mention the detials except that it is indeed white.

We have 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen.

My Mom hasn't gone on strike yet as my wedding planner.

We have yet to decide what kind of shoes Josh will wear with his tux. Converse or classic?

Josh and I looked at apartments yesterday and are close to deciding on a particular floor plan.

We have a location for the ceremony unless something comes up.

That's all for now!
