One Whole Year!

4th of July
I don't have pictures because I was a slacker during Independence Day and refused to take any. We did have a wonderful day, though! We decided to watch fireworks the night before since we had planned to visit some friends 4th of July evening. I think it was the best firework show we've ever seen! They were real close and spectacularly arranged. (don't ever ask me to write ads, you'll just end up with bad descriptions like that one) There was music playing as well to go with the light show. Annie loved them! We were nervous she would cry, but after we told her how fun it was she decided she liked them and would clap. Josh said her jaw dropped open when the show first started and one could hear little sighs of delight coming from her open mouth. Too cute...
We had family and friends over the next day for a BBQ starring Josh's new grill. It makes the best grill marks ever - and the meat turns out just right! We played some games and watched our entertainment (Annie). After all the excitement we didn't go to the party that night after all. Hey we're old married people now - we can use that excuse!
Hope your celebrations were memorable.

The Felling of a Tree
...Really just it's branches. The storm I posted about previously caused our tree in the front yard to split. Josh spent the weekend cutting the branches up and bundling them on the curb. We sure appreciated our neighbor's help and chain saw. It would have taken Josh a week if he just used his little saw. We're set with firewood now!

Ghost Stories and Stuffed Animals
We had a massive thunderstorm blow through on Wednesday which included our power going out. Annie found the flashlight intriguing and played with it until bedtime. It looks like she is trying to share a ghost story.

Annie loves stuffed animals. This morning after I picked her up from her crib she insisted on carrying these two around wherever she went.

A Fun Challenge
Josh and I are aspiring to be vegetarians for 30 days. You can read about it here: http://mommyb33.blogspot.com/
Who knows, maybe we will give up eating meat all together, but I doubt it. I love the variety of non-meat foods and recipes so this should be a nice challenge for creativity.
